Equipping the family of God for the mission of God, to see everyone around us transformed by the Gospel of Jesus.

JOIN US FOR WORSHIP - SUNDAYS AT 10:30AM

We are a church of people who worship Jesus together in community. That means we don’t “go to church”, we are the church. As a church we gather on Sundays to celebrate God’s goodness, and we continue to “be the church” throughout the week as we stay connected to each other in community and bring the truth of the Gospel with us everywhere we go. If you are curious about our church or looking for the Truth, join us for a Sunday gathering or come hang out with one of our Life Groups.

Identity

Identity

Life on life

We are a people who have been transformed by the Gospel. Gospel is a term that is spoken often at Southpoint and we want to be constantly growing in our grasp of what it means and how it fits into and changes every component of our daily lives as followers of Jesus Christ.

life in community

Because God adopts us into his family, we now have a new context for everything. Life in Christ means life together with others who have experienced life in Christ. That means that our understanding of church is not an event or a location, it’s us: the family of God learning to live in our new context together.

life on mission

We are missionaries. Around the clock. Everywhere we go. In everything we do. We are missionaries. Gospel transformation must translate into beautiful, supernatural community that serves as God’s conduit for explosive Gospel transformation in everything that we touch around us in the culture.

MARK POWELL

TEACHING

I was born in North Carolina and have been blessed to live in Georgia since 1989. I have been married to Mandy for 36 years and God has graced us with four children, their spouses, and eight grandchildren. The joy of our life journey is the privilege of planting a Gospel-centered church in Locust Grove, Georgia. My primary task at SPF is working alongside my fellow elders as one of the teaching pastors for our Sunday gatherings.

FAMILIES/STUDENTS

I’m a Henry county native, having lived in Stockbridge and Locust Grove for the majority of my life. I was saved by God’s grace at a young age. I met my beautiful wife in 9th grade at Stockbridge High School and we have been married for 8 years and have a daughter, Piper. The Lord has been so kind as to link my wife and I up with this body of believers and we are grateful to be in this little city called Locust Grove to the glory of God.

MUSIC/LIFE GROUPS

Born and raised in a pastor’s home, the Holy Spirit revealed the truth of Christ to me at an early age. Since then, He continues to grow me in grace and knowledge as I lead my best friend and wife of 9 years, Shannon, and our two sons, Axl and Kingston. My goal is to encourage disciples to be the church in their local communities and equip leaders to cultivate a love for Jesus and live on Gospel mission.
